January 2007: Vol 1, No. 1
Creating Your Business Plan
If you have not yet completed a business plan, then you will want to utilize a comprehensive plan that also includes budgeting and income requirements. Since you want to be in control of your activityand ultimately your incomeyou need to begin with the end in mind.
If your company does not provide a plan, you may consider the SAM Annual Business Planner by clicking on the Order Online button from our homepage.
Marketing
Perhaps the most important part of your business plan is marketing. Take the time to analyze what you have done, as well as explore those markets that you believe to have great future potential.
Once you have decided on your markets for the New Year, create your action plans (30-60-90 days) for execution. Enter those plans into your calendar, so that the initiation and follow-up steps are set.
Activity Management
Use your daily/weekly planner to track the activities relating to your efforts. Talley and examine your results on a weekly basis, but measure success against your plan every 30 days, and more critically every 90 days.
Activity management is what links your annual plan with your daily efforts. Without it, youll simply look at your plan once a year and wonder what happened.
