Activity Management Best Practices

The Power of Compounding

By Mickey Straub

This month, the best activity management tip that I learned did not come from our industry…it came from a Reiki practitioner, a Japanese bodywork technique for well being.

One of the many topics we discussed was the need for keeping our core (abdominal muscles) strong. (Okay, so she probably noticed my gut.) So, she strongly encouraged me to start doing fifty (50) sit-ups per day. I know that doesn’t sound like much and doesn’t take more than a few minutes a day, but that’s fifty more than I had been doing. And after just seven days, I did three hundred and fifty (350) sit-ups. If I keep it up for twelve months…I would end up doing eighteen thousand and two hundred (18,200 sit-ups)…

By zeroing in on that one high-payoff activity and executing on it each day, week and month, it helps you stay focused, in control and get tremendous results!

According to NAIFA Advisors Today “Advisors who have human-capital resources in their offices to assist them and those who collaborate with one or two more advisors are two to three times more likely to be successful than those who go solo.”

In order to stay focused on your goals you need a daily reminder to ensure that you are reaching your Daily Activity Goals and that is why the scorekeeping grid exists.

To learn how to maximize the grid, Read more…
