eScoreBoard Tips & Tricks: Setting Goals in eScoreBoard

Your Odometer for Success!

Using eScoreBoard without setting up Goals is like driving without an odometer. Sure you’re moving, but how will you ever be able to gauge speed, gas mileage or any other important factors without that little needle to help you to compare?escoreboard-goals.jpg

The benefits are clear! Goals bring activity management into focus by allowing them to measure their activity against the standards you set together.

Setting up goals – either for yourself or for your team – can be done by going under the green Goals tab and selecting the “Set Goals” sub-tab.

*Remember, some agents do not have access to the “Set Goals” sub-tab. They should discuss goal setting with their manager directly.

In a few steps, you will have goals set up and be able to see where you’re heading for all of 2009!

Step 1: Using the drop-down menu, select whether you want to set goals for a individual, producer, or manager.

Step 2: Begin adding the individual for whom you would like to set goals. Simply click on their name in the left hand box, and then click the “Add” button to add them to the box on the right.

Step 3: Choose the source for the Goals. You may select from:
- an existing goal profile
- past goals
- past activity to calculate future goals, or
- a blank form to create a goal profile right in the “Set Goals” sub-tab

Step 4: Based on your choice in Step 3, Step 4 will present you with the following choices

Goal Profile -  Using the drop-down menu, select a goal profile you created in the “Goal Profiles” sub-tab

Past Activity - Use the dropdown menus to select the period of time you would like to base the goals on and eScoreBoard will use the average for that timeframe to create the goals

Past Goals - Select a prior year’s goals you would like to apply

Blank Form - Create goals based on activity you enter

Step 5: Select the timeframe for applying goals.

Step 6: Allows you to review what the annual commission goal will be upon saving.

Step 7: Click “Submit” to save the goals for the selected individuals or “Submit & Save as Profile” if you created new goals that you would like to have available for future use.

Setting up goals in eScoreBoard ensures you are getting the most out this system, by creating that benchmark - or “odometer” for you to gauge your progress off of.
